Rumour – Are HP planning on scrapping the WebOS platform?

It is not unfair to say that the WebOS platform has had a chequered history, at best. Originally created by Palm, it was then latterly bought by HP, who promised to extend the platform out to support all kinds of different devices.

Despite these promises, the platform has continually failed to flourish, and a new rumour is circulating, which states that HP are now looking to cancel work on the platform, and close down the WebOS division as soon as possible.
