Symbian is one of the longest running stalwarts of the mobile world, and remains one of the best smartphone operating systems in the world. The newest version of Symbian is even more powerful, and it has found a home in the incredible Nokia N8.
The Nokia N8 is destined to be the last Nseries phone to use the Symbian OS, as Nokia's future high-end mobile phones are said to be moving over to the
MeeGo OS. It is fitting, therefore, that the Nokia N8 is undoubtedly the most powerful Symbian phone Nokia have ever released. With a processor running at 680MHz, the Nokia N8 is very fast and responsive, with the visuals on the 3.5 inch screen easily keeping up to speed with your touch. The screen itself is also worth noting, as the Nokia N8 uses a capacitive, multitouch screen, made from incredibly hardwearing Gorilla Glass. As such, the Nokia N8's screen is tougher than most smartphones on the market; in fact, many commentators have said the Nokia n8 is virtually impossible to scratch.
However, the most exciting part of the Nokia N8's hardware is its camera, because this is the first phone in Nokia's portfolio to use a 12 megapixel camera. Because the camera in the Nokia N8 also includes Carl Zeiss optics and a larger image sensor, it is not unfair to say that the N8 is capable of taking better photos than pretty much any other mobile phone on the market. The Nokia N8 can also capture 720p HD video, making it perfect for shooting HD videos for Youtube. Photos and videos can also be viewed on a big screen, thanks to the HDMI output built into the Nokia N8.
However, there is more to the Nokia N8 than just its camera. The music player is as powerful as you would expect from an Nseries phone, and the N8 also includes a document viewer, allowing you to view Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files directly on the phone. One of the other cornerstones of the Nokia N8 experience is the internet; not only does the phone have an exceptional touch-based browser, but it also supports Flash Lite, allowing you to view much more of the web, in the way it was meant to be viewed, with the Nokia N8.
And finally, all of that power is brought together and clad in an exquisite aluminium body, making the Nokia N8 not only one of the best, but also one of the best-looking smartphones on the market.
